FALLING SLOWLY by Julie Coulter Bellon

FALLING SLOWLY is a short story that features Rafe Kelly, an injured Navy SEAL who had been taken hostage in ALL FALL DOWN that police hostage negotiator Claire Michaels rescued. We watched Claire and Rafe fall for each other in ALL FALL DOWN, but I wanted more, and evidently I wasn't the only one. Author Julie Coulter Bellon listened to her fans and wrote their love story in this romantic novella that takes place immediately after ALL FALL DOWN and before ASHES ASHES, the second book in this exciting Hostage Negotiation Series. Bellon has a rare talent for thoroughly pulling the reader into a story from the first page and keeping you turning the pages. The end came much too soon. I recommend this story for everyone who read ALL FALL DOWN and love Rafe and Claire as much as I do.

Here is the back cover description:

Rafe Kelly never thought he’d fall in love with Claire Michaels, the hostage negotiator sent to get him out of a life or death situation. Though it was easy to see from the beginning that Claire was good at her profession, Rafe quickly realized she was even better for him personally―and that they might have a future together.

When they get back from their mission in Afghanistan, however, Claire goes back to the Hostage Negotiation Team and Rafe is left to deal with the huge hole in his life after leaving the SEALs. Trying to balance an uncertain future with a new relationship is made even more complicated when a family crisis strikes. Will Rafe and Claire be able to turn to each other for strength or are they over before they’ve really begun?
